Notes

The boring facts that decide whether a day works. Read these before you argue about which cliff to see.

Driving

Traffic keeps to the left in both jurisdictions. In the Republic, speed limits are posted in kilometres per hour. In Northern Ireland they are posted in miles per hour. Rental contracts and insurance can change when you cross the land border. Read the papers you signed, not a blog rule of thumb.

Money

The Republic uses the euro. Northern Ireland uses the pound sterling. Cards from the usual networks often work on both sides. Cash machines follow the local currency. We do not publish rates.

Weather

Atlantic fronts move fast on the west coast. A morning that looks clear can close a cliff path by lunch. Pack a shell. Check Met Éireann for the Republic and the Met Office for Northern Ireland on the morning you walk.

Paths and headlands

Cliff edges are unmanaged in many places, including the cliffs of moher visitor centre paths. Local councils and site operators close paths in high wind. If a gate is shut, that is the note. Do not step around it for a photograph of cliffs of moher tickets, cliffs of moher booking, cliffs of moher official tickets, book cliffs of moher, or cliffs of moher ireland tickets. The same headland is falaises de moher billets, acantilados de moher entradas, and scogliere di moher biglietti.

The forecast is part of the route. Write it down with the mileage.
